In 2023, China's automobile exports hit the top in the world

The "New Three Kinds" of Shenzhen's foreign trade products, represented by new energy vehicles, photovoltaic products, and lithium batteries, have recently seen a steady flow of overseas orders, with emerging industries playing a prominent role in leading foreign trade growth.

2023 Shenzhen's new energy export surge

According to customs data, in the first two months of this year, the total export volume of new energy vehicles in Shenzhen customs area exceeded 3.6 billion yuan, the export of photovoltaic products reached nearly 500 million yuan, and the export of lithium batteries reached nearly 13 billion yuan, with year-on-year growth of about 2300%, 64%, and 62%, respectively. Since the beginning of this year, Guangdong Nansha Automobile Port has exported a total of 7251 new energy vehicles in 9 batches, a year-on-year increase of over 33 times. It can be seen that the three major categories of products, namely "electricity", "light", and "lithium", which are high-tech, high value-added, and leading the green transformation, are becoming new growth points for Shenzhen's exports.

Outstanding performance in other cities

01 Zhejiang

The export of electric vehicles increased by 84.0% in the first two months of this year.

02 Anhui

According to statistics from Hefei Customs, the export volume of new energy vehicles in Anhui Province increased by 457% year-on-year in the first two months., Burst by 4.5x

03 Liaoning

04 Hainan

In the first quarter of this year, the export quantity of second-hand cars in Yangpu, Danzhou reached over 1000 units, with an expected year-on-year growth of 90%, achieving a significant increase.

On March 18th, the General Administration of Customs released data on China's key import and export commodities for February: 320000 vehicles (including chassis) were exported in February, a year-on-year increase of 48.7%; From January to February, a total of 680000 cars were exported, a year-on-year increase of 43.2%. Top 10 export destination countries

From January to February 2023, China's top 10 export destination countries were Russia, Mexico, Belgium, Saudi Arabia, Australia, the United Kingdom, Thailand, Spain, the United Arab Emirates, and the Philippines, with the top 9 selling over 20000 vehicles. Among them, Russia has become China's largest export destination country, with sales reaching 79300 vehicles, a year-on-year growth rate of 171%, making it the only destination country with over 60000 vehicles. As other countries exit the Russian market, Chinese companies quickly occupy 40% of the passenger car market in Russia.

The above data also shows that the export boom has accelerated the overseas layout of China's new energy vehicles, and has also "swept" domestic battery suppliers overseas. In addition to BYD and other vehicle brands successively opening their first factories overseas, Ningde Times, Xinwangda, Yiwei Lithium Energy, Guoxuan High tech and others have also started overseas factory building models to support customers nearby. Among them, the German factory modules and cell production lines of the Ningde era have achieved mass production, and the second factory in Europe located in Hungary is also being promoted.
