05.10,2023

The "New Three Kinds" of Shenzhen's foreign trade products, represented by new energy vehicles, photovoltaic products, and lithium batteries, have recently seen a steady flow of overseas orders, with emerging industries playing a prominent role in leading foreign trade growth.

2023 Shenzhen's new energy export surge

According to customs data, in the first two months of this year, the total export volume of new energy vehicles in Shenzhen customs area exceeded 3.6 billion yuan, the export of photovoltaic products reached nearly 500 million yuan, and the export of lithium batteries reached nearly 13 billion yuan, with year-on-year growth of about 2300%, 64%, and 62%, respectively. Since the beginning of this year, Guangdong Nansha Automobile Port has exported a total of 7251 new energy vehicles in 9 batches, a year-on-year increase of over 33 times. It can be seen that the three major categories of products, namely "electricity", "light", and "lithium", which are high-tech, high value-added, and leading the green transformation, are becoming new growth points for Shenzhen's exports.

The above data also shows that the export boom has accelerated the overseas layout of China's new energy vehicles, and has also "swept" domestic battery suppliers overseas. In addition to BYD and other vehicle brands successively opening their first factories overseas, Ningde Times, Xinwangda, Yiwei Lithium Energy, Guoxuan High tech and others have also started overseas factory building models to support customers nearby. Among them, the German factory modules and cell production lines of the Ningde era have achieved mass production, and the second factory in Europe located in Hungary is also being promoted.
